Mechanical Design Engineer - RESCUE Intellitech
Would you like to develop products that make a real difference? Clean gear saves lives.

Would you like to develop products that make a real difference?
At RESCUE Intellitech, we develop solutions that create a safer working environment for fire and rescue services and industrial operations involving high-risk activities. Our products provide effective cleaning and decontamination of protective equipment, reducing exposure to hazardous substances and protecting the people who work in demanding environments every day.
Clean gear saves lives.
We are now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our R&D team in Malmö and help develop both our existing and future products. You will have the opportunity to work across the entire development process, from initial concept and design through prototyping, testing and verification to the finished product. You will be part of a small team with short decision-making paths, a high level of individual responsibility and excellent opportunities to make an impact.
About the role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer at RESCUE Intellitech, you will have a broad product development role in which mechanical design, testing and problem-solving go hand in hand. You will work with the complete product, taking technical solutions from an early idea through to implementation.
Your responsibilities will include:
developing mechanical concepts, designs and technical solutions
using CAD and 3D modelling to produce drawings and design documentation
developing new products while improving existing solutions
building and modifying prototypes, followed by practical testing
planning and conducting tests, including documenting verification results
evaluating components, materials and alternative technical solutions
collaborating with suppliers and subcontractors
providing technical support across the organisation
participating in projects or sub-projects, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility
The role reports to the CTO at Rescue Intellitech and is based at our head office in Malmö.
About you
We believe you are a curious, solution-oriented engineer who wants to continue growing in an environment built on trust, autonomy, and impact. You thrive when combining digital design work with hands-on workshop development, enjoying the journey from initial sketch to fully functioning hardware.
You bring a collaborative, pragmatic approach and are happy to jump in wherever needed to move projects forward. You naturally take ownership, structure your tasks, and drive initiatives to completion. In a dynamic team environment where priorities can adapt quickly, you remain adaptable, open-minded, and focused on our shared goals.
What we are looking for
a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
approximately 1–3 years of experience in product development, mechanical design or a similar field
experience with CAD and 3D modelling; we use SolidWorks
a good understanding of mechanical design and product development processes
an interest in both design work and hands-on development
Professional fluency in English (written and spoken). Proficiency in Swedish is a strong advantage.
Experience in prototype development, testing, manufacturing documentation, sheet metal design, machined components and/or managing product development projects would be an advantage.
Why RESCUE Intellitech?
We offer the best of both worlds. At RESCUE Intellitech, you will work in a small, entrepreneurial company with short decision-making paths, close collaboration and significant opportunities to make an impact.
RESCUE Intellitech is part of the family-owned Sandberg Development Group. Being part of the Group provides long-term stability, access to specialist expertise and a strong internal network. At the same time, we retain the flexibility and drive of a small growth company.
You will have the opportunity to grow alongside committed colleagues and contribute to products used by fire and rescue services and other high-risk occupational groups around the world.
